Public Information Requests
The law requires that public information requests be made in writing. The City no longer accepts informal requests for information. This includes direct emails, phone calls, or walk-in verbal requests.
Requestors should complete the online form. Requests may be emailed to csecretary@caldwelltx.gov, or submitted in person to the City Secretary’s Office.
Requests for public information are treated uniformly. Once the request is submitted, it will be reviewed to determine if the information is deemed public. If the information is public, the request will be processed. The city attorney determines if the requested information can be released. A response to the request will be issued within 10 business days. For more information on how the City Secretary’s Office handles requests for public information, please visit the Attorney General of Texas website.
